Light therapy is one of many alternative treatments now being studied for depression. In the recent past, psychologists insisted the only effective treatment was traditional therapy consisting of antidepressants and psychotherapy. Now, thankfully, researchers are finding alternative remedies can be just as effective as antidepressants, and without the unpleasant side effects.
